Rewarding Inspired Educators
PLATO Learning launched the first annual PLATO® Inspired Educators Award this spring, and we were overwhelmed by the response. From the host of entries we received, we have chosen three outstanding K–12 educators for being inspired PLATO ambassadors—leading the charge to implement, expand, and sustain results-oriented programs that integrate PLATO Learning technology-based instruction.
Innovative Spirit Category—an educator who broke new ground to define, build, and implement a first-of-its-kind educational program utilizing PLATO Learning's online instructional solutions.
- Winner: Michael Albano, Pittsfield Public Schools, MA
- Finalist: Nerissa Linell Calub, Sheepshead Bay High School, NY
- Finalist: Natalie Roberts, Celebration High School, FL
Corner Stone Category—an educator who diligently worked as a change agent to champion their PLATO Learning implementation and expand and grow their program over time.
- Winner: Vicki Beaty, Bradley County School District, TN
- Finalist: Cindy Merlo, Ernest Righetti High School, CA
- Finalist: Mary Raymer, Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, NC
Efficacy Advocate—an educator who documented data-driven achievements and academic results using PLATO Learning's educational technology.
- Winner: Nancy Frink, Thompson School District, CO
- Finalist: Heidi Ballog, Roswell High School, GA
- Finalist: Clint Tyler, Elk Lake School District, PA
