J. Ted Sanders has had a wide-range of experiences at virtually all levels of education. Most recently Executive Chairman of Cardean Learning Group, Dr. Sanders was appointed Chairman of Ellis University in June 2008 after serving as Executive Chairman of Cardean Learning Group since February 2005. His previous credentials include President of the Education Commission of the States (ECS) from February 2000-February 2005, President of Southern Illinois University from 1995–2000, and Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction from 1991–95. As Deputy Secretary of Education (1989–91) he also held the post of Acting U.S. Secretary of Education from November 1990–March 1991.
