Ruth L. Greenstein Vice President, Finance & Administration, Institute for Defense Analyses
For more than 20 years, Ruth L. Greenstein has held senior government and executive positions in the Washington, D.C. area. As Chief Operating Officer for IDA, an R&D corporation, Greenstein has negotiated multi-year R&D contracts totaling more than $1 billion, restructured insurance portfolios, redesigned the pension program for tax and ERISA compliance, and implemented a fully-networked computer environment.
Prior to joining IDA, Greenstein served as Vice President of Finance and General Counsel for the Genex Corporation where she was responsible for a full range of corporate legal matters. As Vice President and Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer her major activities included two public and several private stock offerings, acquisition of another corporation, negotiation of R&D and licensing agreements, major real estate transactions, and formulation of corporate strategy for protection of intellectual property.
Currently Greenstein is a member of the Board of Directors for VSA, an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She is a member and participates on the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects for the American Red Cross and is a former Chair of the American Association of the Advancement of Science.
